Pitt fans aren't the only ones a little puzzled by Khem Birch's transfer from the school. Count his coach from Notre Dame Prep among those confused.
Ryan Hurd, said coach, thinks the move was a bad one, according to the Post-Gazette's Ray Fittipaldo via Twitter:
ND Prep coach Ryan Hurd on Birch: "The problem is he is being led down a road by so-called advisors. It’s going to end poorly for Khem."
Hurd also reportedly added that he thought Pitt was indeed a good spot for him:
More from Ryan Hurd: "Pitt was the perfect place for him." Also said Birch had a hard time adjusting to physicaltiy of major college bball.
As I wrote over at SB Nation Pittsburgh in our Khem Birch transfer stream, if anyone says this, it's kind of a big deal. But for a former coach to say it about one of his players is really newsworthy.
This whole thing has just been odd
