Pitt Football: Panthers Getting Ready For NFL Combine

Stay connected for news and updates

With the NFL Combine fast approaching, several Pitt players are getting ready including injured Greg Romeus.

Romeus is one of six Pitt players who will be at the combine, which will be held from February 23rd to March 1st. But unlike those players, Romeus won't be active:

Former Pitt defensive end Greg Romeus is recovering from knee surgery and plans to attend the NFL Scouting Combine from Feb. 23 to March 1 in Indianapolis. He won't work out but will be interviewed by team officials and examined by doctors, said Drew Smith, his agent.

Romeus is hoping to work out for scouts in April prior to the NFL Draft, though.
The other Pitt players scheduled to be at the Combine include running back Dion Lewis, defensive end Jabaal Sheard, fullback Henry Hynoski, offensive tackle Jason Pinkston, and wide receiver Jon Baldwin.
It's going to be extremely interesting to see where Romeus ends up. Entering the season, he was arguably a first-round talent. But he's not had significant playing time in over a year and even if he can work out for scouts in April, he may not be at his best.
If Romeus slips in the draft, some team could get a steal because when healthy, he's an excellent player.
