Hynoski Not Selected in NFL Draft
"I'm not feeling too good right now," Hynoski said Saturday night. "I'm kind of in shock. This was really unexpected from all angles."
I was surprised as he was that he wasn't drafted. Must not be a great need for a good blocking fullback in the NFL. Six fullbacks were selected in the draft. I wonder if they were more runners than blockers. Here is the story...

HE SHOWED UP AT THE COMBINE FAT AND OUT OF SHAPE
HE ALSO RAN A GLACIAL 40 TIME.
I WONDER IF HE’S HAVING SECOND THOUGHTS ABOUT LEAVING A YEAR EARLY? LULZ!
Even if he stayed
the spread offense is not an ideal offense for any FB at all really. He would have mainly done blocking and hardly carry the ball at all, which is not something he wanted to do. I don’t blame him for leaving, he came into Pitt wanting to play in a pro-style offense and with the switch, it made sense.
I actually agree with this including the part about not blaming him for leaving....but
…in hindsight, I can’t help but think it may have been more beneficial to come back. He could have increased his reputation as a good pass-catcher (which was already pretty good). I think there would have been opportunities to do that in Graham’s system with Tino operating out of the shotgun.
The other thing I’ve been thinking about over the weekend is that maybe Hynoski could have actually gotten some carries. Typically, in Graham’s system, I would have said no way. But Ray Graham is Pitt’s only experienced rusher coming back and because of that, Hyno could have ended up with some carries after all.
Hindsight is obviously 20/20 and I came around to the fact that going into the Draft was a good thing for him. But now, I’m not so sure.
