Pitt Football: Panthers Loading Up On Night Games In 2011

As a 30ish male who at times feels like he's twice that age, I'm not quite sure how I feel about the kickoff times for Pitt's home games thus far. Don't get me wrong - I'm not a huge fan of noon starts, either, and Pitt will surely have at least one or two of those. But with the announcement that the opener against Buffalo will be at 6:00 p.m. (and Maine will be at 1:00 p.m.), three of the Panthers' four home games that have been announced are nightcaps.

For big time games? I'm all for it. Despite what last year's beatdown at the hands of Miami proved, night home games against big opponents can provide a nice advantage. But Buffalo? Eh, not so sure.

Times for Utah, Notre Dame, Syracuse, and Cincinnati are still unannounced. But you've got to think the games against Utah and Notre Dame at least stand a chance of being night contests, so we could see a few more of them.
