Pitt Basketball: Panthers Will Battle Albany In Non-Conference Matchup

Stay connected for news and updates

Pitt's non-conference matchups have been coming out sporadically. There's the Philly Hoop Group Challenge where Pitt faces several teams. There's the City Game against Duquesne. Then there's Tennessee in the Big East-SEC Challenge.

Now, there are the Albany Great Danes.

Pitt will reportedly take on the Albany on Friday, November 11th at the Pete.

Albany was a mediocre 16-16 last season and shouldn't provide too tough a matchup for Pitt - especially at home. They were a solid rebounding team last year, but finished near the bottom of the NCAA in scoring and field goal percentage in finishing third in the America East conference.

Random facts, yes. But factor in that they lost their leading scorer, guard Tim Ambrose, to graduation and will likely be a long night offensively for Albany playing against the Panthers.

Albany will also face Maryland and potentially Syracuse in the NIT Season Tip-Off, so they've got a challenging non-con.
