I never got to this, but a few days ago, Pitt wide receiver Darius Patton was injured in practice. More specifically, he collapsed and was subsequently hospitalized. He was participating in a non-contact drill at the time and it wasn't immediately sure what caused the problem.

So it was good to hear that he was released yesterday.

After his release, Pitt head coach Todd Graham said:

"We hoped that he is doing well," Todd Graham said yesterday. "We are very pleased that things are going well with that situation and that he is doing well."

Patton was one of Todd Graham's first recruits back in January after he came on board. No word yet on when he'll return to action, but he probably was hard pressed to contribute in a big way this year.

Obviously no need to rush him back and the most important thing is for him to get healthy.
