Pitt Football Fall Camp: No Brendon Felder In 2011

Fairly minor note here but recent transfer Brendon Felder is not eligible for 2011 according to a brief note in the Trib. Felder, a former Gateway product, was a wide receiver transfer from North Carolina, and was coming to Pitt to be near his sick grandparents.

Because of that, he was petitioning to the NCAA to bypass the standard year he must sit out due to the transfer and play right away in '11. No dice, so he'll have to wait until next season to make his Pitt debut.

When he does get on the field, though, he should be an asset. He's a receiver and also has the ability to return kicks and punts. Pitt's coaches have said he'll be a receiver, but at North Carolina he also played as a defensive back so he's got the capability to play there as well - though with the large number of cornerbacks and safeties the team has stockpiled, that's probably not likely.
