With the season underway (well, almost) time for some Big East power rankings.

Andrew over at the UConn Blog was good enough to set it up once again so that everyone can vote for their favorite team provide a clearly unbiased opinion. As expected, West Virginia finished first. Pitt and South Florida tied for second.

Biggest homers of the first week? Well, On the Banks slotting Rutgers third was pretty gutsy. I will say, though, that I could see Rutgers surprising some folks and possibly getting up to fifth.

My ballot?

West Virginia, Pitt, Cincinnati, South Florida, Syracuse, Louisville, Rutgers, UConn.

I think there's West Virginia, then a second tier of teams (Pitt, Cincy, USF), a third tier (Syracuse, Louisville, Rutgers), and then UConn. UConn might not necessarily be the worst, but I don't see them being a huge surprise and finishing fifth out of that last group of four.

Head over to The UConn blog for the full team-by-team and aggregate picks.
