BBVA Compass Bowl: Pitt Early Favorite

We're finally there - well, almost. Pitt's bowl game is only a few days away and there should be more coverage out there soon.

SB Nation's mothership tracked down some early odds and Pitt is the early favorite against SMU.

Star-divide

The Panthers are apparently five-point favorites thus far. With all the turmoil around the program after Todd Graham happened, that's probably about right. I've taken this stance since the game was announced and, frankly, I'd be pretty surprised if Pitt didn't win this game. I know all about the coaching changes, the uncertainty, etc. But at some point, the game comes down to talent and I think Pitt just has more of it.

At the end of the day, I don't care who's coaching this team, or even if everybody's playing. The chance for a letdown exists, but I fully expect Pitt to come out and play hard. And if they do that, it'll be enough against SMU.
