A-lot of Pitt fans will have a hard time digesting this - especially given the current Pitt record - but let's give credit where credit is do: Tino Sunseri is having a great season, and the stats show it all too well. As of the time of this writing, Tino is completing 70.4 percent of his passes, and has a passer efficiency rating of 163.5 which actually leads the Big East. Tino has taken a-lot of flak in the past on his play, but you certainly can't pin Pitt's losses on Tino this time.
Yes, Tino does have situational problems (as we saw against Syracuse), but the fact of the matter is that Tino is more than giving Pitt a chance to win every game. In short, the offensive line has just been atrocious this year, and the fact that Tino is having the kind of season he is having with a horrible offensive line really speaks volumes. Finally, after two mediocre seasons, Pitt is finally getting the QB play it expected out of one of PA's best high school QBs of all time.
Let's give props to Tino this year guys - just fabulous play out of him. A great ESPN article giving amens to Tino.
