Dan Mason's season ended Saturday. He has an undisclosed internal injury. One report indicates it's possibly a laceration to the liver. After two great games with double digit tackles, a career tying 11 against Buffalo and 10 against Temple, Mason just can't seem to catch a break. He was injured when he made an extraordinary play from his middle LB position to tackle the Temple QB near the Pitt sideline. The fourth and goal play prevented a Temple TD. After all his hard work rehabbing from the knee injury, it's hard to see him not get a chance to play his way off the field.
Also done for the season is offensive guard Ryan Schlieper with a broken ankle.
