Pitt basketball at 50:1 odds to win National Championship

Pitt isn't likely to win a National Championship this year, but oddsmakers are taking a shot at deciding just how much of a longshot they are.

A few weeks ago, a popular site put Pitt at 45:1. This time, it's Bovada who tabs Pitt as 50:1 odds. And while the Panthers aren't ranked in the preseason Top 25 polls, the 50:1 spot actually ties them for 21st in Bovada's list of odds.

In case you're wondering, Kentucky is the odds on favorite to win another national championship at 6:1 and Indiana comes in second at 7:1. The best Big East team is Louisville (17:2), who checks in at third. UCLA (12:1) and North Carolina (14:1) round out the top five.

Syracuse (20:1) and Georgetown (40:1) are the only other Big East programs ahead of Pitt. The Panthers are tied with a slew of teams at 50:1 including Baylor, Creighton, Cincinnati, San Diego State, and Stanford.
