Amid swirling controversy, famed college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit held a press conference yesterday afternoon, apologizing for his role in an incident that took place at a water park outside of Madison, Wisc.
Herbstreit was in Wisconsin promoting the Allstate 60 Seconds of Mayhem Sweepstakes.
According to reports, Herbstreit, was seen calling children names and causing a ruckus at the top of the slide, after being told he exceeded the ride's size limit.
Today, Herbstreit gathered reporters to admit guilt and accept partial responsibility for his part in the incident.
"When you're doing blocking drills, do you one day imagine you'll use them to prevent children from getting on a waterslide? All the time. But that doesn't make it right," said Herbstreit in his press conference today.
Regardless of Herbstreit's behavior, the Allstate 60 Seconds of Mayhem Sweepstakes will continue. AllstateCFB.com is still accepting entries for a chance to win a ski-boat, motorcycle, truck, RV, and a meet and greet with Kirk Herbstreit.
