Vote for the Oakland Zoo as best student section (Photo by Justin K. Aller/Getty Images)
I often don't bring up these sorts of fan voting things, but since there are a few good ones out there right now that Pitt is pushing, thought I'd mention them.
You can vote for Ashton Gibbs as he's up for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award given to a men's and women's basketball player for on- and off-court contributions. Gibbs is one of ten finalists for the award and is in dire need of your support - he was in last place as of Thursday night.
Next, vote for the Oakland Zoo as the Naismith Student Section of the Year (yes, there is such a thing). Now, I've taken the Zoo to task for leaving a game early this year, but I've got to say they did a great overall job in supporting the team even in the midst of a wild losing streak. The Zoo brings it 99% of the time and they deserve your vote.
But the most important vote is after the jump.
Lastly, make sure to vote for Jamie Dixon and his charity of choice, the Maggie Dixon Foundation in the Infinity Coaches' Charity Challenge. Dixon will receive $100,000 for his favorite charity if he wins, so help him out. You can vote until early March when the winners will be announced.Be sure to join Cardiac Hill's Facebook page and follow us on Twitter @PittPantherBlog for our regular updates on Pitt football and basketball.
