2012 CBI Tournament Finals: Pitt Vs. Washington State Open Gamethread

Pitt needs a victory to stay alive (Mandatory Credit: Anthony Gruppuso-US PRESSWIRE)

It's do or die time for Pitt. Another loss gives the 'title' to Washington State.

The game is in Pittsburgh for tonight and, if necessary, a third game. Chuck Finder pretty much echoes my thoughts when it comes to Pitt winning. The Panthers played horrible around the perimeter leaving Cougars players wide open from the arc much of the game. The defense has to show up and Pitt also needs to somehow remember they're not the Phoenix Suns, throwing up three-pointers at a record pace.

No word yet on if Brock Motum will play for Washington State and his Twitter account gives no indication of his plans. If he suits up, things become more difficult for Pitt.

The good news is that Washington State is a team Pitt can beat. They got into a huge slump, falling behind in double digits in the second half and still almost won. The key, as always, is if Pitt can play that hard for a full 40 minutes.

Stop back at 7:00 p.m. and comment during the game.
