Changing Of The Guard ... Sort Of

No, I'm not leaving - you cretins aren't rid of me that easily. That said, the site is going to be adding a bit of a new dimension starting soon.

Ever since I started this site back at the end of 2008, I've always shunned recruiting for the most part. I've repeatedly stated my disdain for it and that really still holds true.

Teenagers are funny creatures. They can change their mind at the drop of a hat, make stupid decisions, or worse. When you have grown men pandering to your every whim, you can multiply all of that exponentially. Keeping that in mind, recruiting is what drives the bus when it comes to a six-win season or an undefeated one. It's really important in the grand scheme of things and even if you have a great coach, it's absolutely critical to recruit well.

So, with that in mind, starting soon, we're going to do more in the way of recruiting. We're not out to topple Rivals or Scout (those guys do an amazing job, by the way), attend high school football games, or interview recruits. But what we are committing to do is more than the obligatory mention for verbals or kids that sign. Essentially, we're going to try to follow what's going on with prospective recruits a bit more, talk about when Pitt is a finalist for a recruit, and the like.

Things will start out slowly for sure, but you can expect a good deal more from us when it comes to covering potential recruits for Pitt.
