BBVA Compass Bowl For Pitt ... Again? #Crap

Stay connected for news and updates

Will Pitt play in the BBVA Compass Bowl yet again? (Thomas Campbell-US PRESSWIRE)

The Panthers have yet to even play a game, but that doesn't stop bowl projections for the coming season from coming out. And according to Phil Steele, the Panthers are headed to ... the BBVA Compass Bowl. Again.

Pitt's been in the bowl game the past two seasons and, yeah, it's getting old. Nevertheless, Steele says Pitt will be headed there yet again - this time to play against MIssouri.

The Panthers won the first bout with Kentucky two seasons ago, but were then rolled up by SMU last year. Interest was particularly down last season when the game had the lowest attendance in the history of the bowl.

In other words, I don't know that Pitt can stomach a third straight trip to Birmingham. And to be fair, I'm sure the bowl probably wants to get a different Big East team involved, too. This is nothing against the bowl, personally, mind you. But unless a school gets to a BCS or other major bowl, it's hard to get excited going to the same place year after year.
