I swear, this elf gets creepier and creepier to look at every time I see it.
Pitt got another commitment today, this time from Havertown LB Matt Galambos. Galambos picked the Panthers over Syracuse, Rutgers, Temple, Harvard, and Yale. After cutting his list down to Pitt, Rutgers, and Harvard, he picked the Panthers due to their family-like atmosphere. This is Pitt's 16th commitment for the 2013 class.
Galambos went unrated by ESPN, but was given 2 stars by Rivals and 3 stars by Scout. At 6'2" and 220 lbs, he will likely play middle linebacker when he gets to college. Despite not being highly regarded by the national recruiting sites, he was selected as a top high school football player in the Philadelphia area.
For a while, though, Galambos was a heavy Penn State lean. He grew up dreaming of playing for the Nittany Lions. Then the sanctions hit.
"Growing up, I was always a Penn State fan and that's changed with everything going on right now," Galambos said. "I don't see anything in my eyes from them. It's tough [to look at Penn State] with the sanctions against them. That changes everything. I once lived and breathed Penn State football; they used to be me favorite school.
