One of Pitt's bigger targets for 2013, running back Derrick Green, had a pretty long list of potential suitors last month. That list, according to ESPN, is about to shrink.

ESPN says that Green is going to be cutting his list as soon as this week ($). As of last month, the list reportedly included Pitt, Tennessee, Ohio State, Miami, Auburn, Oklahoma State, Georgia, Michigan, Mississippi, Oregon, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Alabama, and Oklahoma.

Green recently visited Michigan and he reportedly told this site that Michigan was in his top five. So take that for what it's worth.

One school we can cross off his list? It's a big one.

According to mgoblog who checked out his Twitter account, Ohio State has apparently pulled their offer.

Really, with that many finalists involved right now, it's hard to get too excited about his chances of coming to Pitt ... particularly with so many big name schools still hanging around (despite the fact that all of the schools ranked pretty evenly). But if the Panthers are still left standing after his most recent cut, it will be worth taking a bit more notice.

Green is a five-star recruit and the No. 12 running back in the nation according to Rivals.
