Pitt's linebackers probably have Paul Chryst at least a little concerned (Photo by Jared Wickerham/Getty Images)
Pitt's questionable linebackers corps lost a player for 2012 when Ejuan/Juan Price reportedly tweeted that he won't be playing this season. Price will be taking a medical redshirt after undergoing pectoral surgery earlier this year.
I didn't notice much on Price during training camp and it looks like he'll be out for the year. The linebackers are the unit on defense with arguably the most question marks, so Price's absence doesn't help. The defensive line is mostly all new, but has looked good in camp. And the secondary, which has been questionable in recent years, is at a point where they've built up some considerable depth.
But the linebackers are the ones we're least sure about. There are reasons for optimism, including redshirt junior Shane Gordon, who has looked good at times. But all in all, losing a player with some talent like Banks hurts when the position is so thin.
