SB Nation Pittsburgh Feature: Rushel Shell Vs. Isaac Bennett

Stay connected for news and updates

Isaac Bennett hasn't been seen much since Youngstown State (Charles LeClaire-US PRESSWIRE)

After a big spring, Isaac Bennett was projected to be a significant part of the Panthers' offense. But in the past two games, he appears to have been surpassed by true freshman Rushel Shell on the depth chart. That was pretty evident this weekend against Virginia Tech when Shell had 23 carries to Bennett's two. With Ray Graham getting 24, there wasn't much left for Bennett.

Where does that leave him? I took a look at the issue over at SB Nation Pittsburgh through a feature that went up this morning. The abridged version is that there's still plenty of time for Bennett to make an impact and Pitt fans shouldn't write him off just yet.

That said, Shell clearly looks like the number two guy right now and the way he played this weekend, it's hard to question that move.

Head over and take a look.
