Proof that Larry Fitzgerald was indeed a ball boy

USA TODAY Sports

For years we've heard the endless stories about former Pitt wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald growing up in football, serving as a ball boy for the Minnesota Vikings. The legend was generally accepted because what, like Larry's going to lie about that?

Even if you were a skeptic, though, proof emerged last week via Keith Leventhal - a sports reporter. Behold, I give you the game footage:

Pretty cool. He later said in a reply to someone on Twitter that he discovered the footage while doing a story on Cris Carter, who was a Vikings' receiver at the time.

Yahoo's Shutdown Corner also wrote up a post on it. Obviously if you're a ball boy for a team you're likely to become a fan - and that's what happened with Fitz.

Good stuff.
