You can look for added ACC coverage from ROOT Sports season as the network will air over 140 live ACC games this season, per Pitt's athletics department website.
Football and basketball are to be expected, but the station will also be airing a lot of games/matches from smaller sports as well.
The thing that jumps out is that the station will show a dozen ACC Tournament baseball games. Instead of watching Pitt on ESPN3, you now might be able to watch them on ROOT Sports. The network will also air 20 Olympic sports events, including a few involving Pitt.
Pitt's women's soccer match on the road against Duke will be shown as will the women's volleyball match against Florida State. Both of those programs for Duke and FSU were top 20 programs.
I'm not expecting there to be a lot of interest in some of Pitt's other sports right away. But with some of these sports, particularly baseball, being shown on TV, interest should increase over the years. As always, though, the thing that will drive that will be on-field success. Baseball drew quite a bit of coverage this year and it's so surprise that it coincided with the most successful season in school history.
