2013 Bowl Game Predictions: Phil Steele predicts bowlless season for Pitt

US PRESSWIRE

Phil Steele, who's been busy releasing All-American lists and all kinds of preseason college football stuff, has released his bowl predictions for this upcoming season. But if you were hoping to see where Pitt will be headed, you're out of luck.

Steele passed on the Panthers, not slotting them in any of the dozens of bowl games.

I can respect that opinion and Pitt certainly has a ton of question marks surrounding the program right now. But I'll stick by my earlier assessment that this team has too many easy games to fall short of six wins. With games against New Mexico, Duke, Navy, and Old Dominion, not piecing together six wins would be a bad season, even if it is the first one in a new conference.

I'm not sure the Panthers will win much more than that, but six seems like a pretty safe bet to me - and that would mean that Pitt will get to go bowling.
