Doctor Robert: Pitt vs. Virginia Injury Report

A new feature I'm starting up this week is Doctor Robert - a weekly injury report. Yeah, we'll see how it goes.

In his weekly press conference, head coach Paul Chryst noted a few injuries that could impact Saturday's game. For starters, Bam Bradley didn't play against Duke (or even make the trip, for that matter) with a shoulder injury. That really weakens the depth of the linebackers and Pitt will be in better shape if they can get him back. He's currently behind Todd Thomas on the two deep as Jim mentioned on Wednesday and Pitt can use his depth.

Bryan Murphy is another guy that didn't play (ankle). Starting on the defensive line, you can argue that him in there creates more pressure on the quarterback. But as Chryst said in his weekly presser, he's expected to be back.

The third injury noted is an interesting one - Gabe Roberts at center, who left the Duke game with an unknown injury. He's the backup to Artie Rowell, but as I said in my press conference notes, he's extremely valuable. If he can't go and Rowell gets injured, someone else gets forced into duty at a pretty important position.

After that, though, more news broke on Wednesday. Per the Trib's Jerry DiPaola, Pitt lost Devin Cook for the season with an ACL injury and even star Tyler Boyd is a bit dinged up. Boyd is expected to go against Virginia, but sprained his ankle and sat out Wednesday's practice.

Yikes.
