Elias Reynolds, a 6'2" 230 pound linebacker from Brooklyn, New York has announced his commitment to Pitt tonight via Twitter. Reynolds hails from Poly Prep High School in Brooklyn, New York and chose the Panthers over his other finalist Illinois. At one time, Reynolds was a Rutgers commit, thus making him the third player to flip from the Scarlet Knights to the Panthers joining Phil Campbell and Justin Morgan. As always, Pat Narduzzi was there to confirm the commitment not long after the fact.

Elias Reynolds becomes the 20th member of the 2016 recruiting class, and the third linebacker on the list. He joins Kaezon Pugh and Chase Pine to help bolster the position. He is also the second player from the state of New York. Tight Ends coach, Tim Salem, would have to assume a lot of credit here as he has hit the New York/New Jersey very hard for this program this year.
Reynolds checks in as a two star by Rivals, but a three star by both ESPN and 24/7. He is regarded as one of the top prep players in the state of New York. On top of his interest from Pitt, Illinois, and Rutgers he has offers from Maryland, UConn, Wake Forest, and Syracuse.
Pitt's class is starting to finalize as they head into the stretch run. There are two players visiting this weekend, and a few more will be there next weekend for the final wave of official visits. Obviously space is limited, but there are important names like Damar Hamlin, Khaleke Hudson, Amir Watts, and Darnell Salomon.
