Pitt is the only current Big East football team with a winning conference record in each of the last four seasons?
According to Brett McMurphy of ESPN..."Pittsburgh starting running back Ray Graham is "unlikely to play" in the Panthers' season opener against Youngstown State on Sept. 1."
In his preseason Herbie awards, Herbstreit picked the Panthers to win the conference and Graham as Player of the Year in the conference. He's got a lot of belief in Chryst. Let's hope it plays out this way.
Yesterday, I mentioned a quote from Pitt's Rushel Shell that seemed to indicate he would be open to redshirting this season. Over at SB Nation Pittsburgh, I took a closer look at the issue. Head over and check it out.
2013 Vermont Academy wing Jamel Artis tells me he will not make his college decision today, as was originally intended.

That confirms what Pantherlair's Matt Steinbrink tweeted yesterday about Artis not being ready.
2013 PF Jamel Artis (Baltimore, Md) told me this morning he expects to announce Saturday between Pittsburgh and La Salle.

Per Will Gunter of 247Sports. My money is on the Baltimore native saying Pitt is it.
Pitt is a 6 seed in Joe Lunardi's post-summer bracket, going up against 11 seed Alabama in Philadelphia, with a potential game against future ACC foe North Carolina in the next round.
Longtime Pitt writer Paul Zeise is stepping down from the Pitt beat, he announced today. Zeise's son, Elijah (2014 safety prospect from North Allegheny), has been offered a football scholarship by Pitt. Avoiding even the appearance of a conflict of interest in the media world is of paramount importance, so this is an understandable decision. Paul has always been good to me since I've been blogging Pitt and his expertise and humor will be missed on the beat. Staff writer Sam Werner will be taking over the Pitt football beat. "It starts now," ... "I have to prove myself every day. I have to improve every day. I have to work hard every day. All of the awards and stuff was high school; that's over now. It is time to take this next step."

#Pitt head coach Paul Chryst announced that offensive tackle Tom Ricketts will have surgery on his shoulder and miss the 2012 season

Because if there's one position Pitt could afford losing a player, it's tackle. Oh wait.
