Notre Dame will join ACC as full member w/exception of football. ND will play 5 football games annually vs. ACC, sources told @espn
— Brett McMurphy (@McMurphyESPN) September 12, 2012
Brett McMurphy just confirmed that Notre Dame will join the ACC in all sports but football and hockey. However, the Irish will play 5 football games against ACC teams annually. McMurphy also said Notre Dame will join ACC after the 27 month exit notice period. #goacc
Pitt opens with Fordham on Monday, November 12th and then will play either Lehigh or Robert Morris the following night on ESPNU. Pitt wins both, they head to MSG on the 21st. If they lose one, they'll play at the Pete on the 19th and 20th
Want a Pitt-Virginia Tech preview from the Hokies' point of view? You're in luck. SB Nation's Gobbler Country has you covered - check it out here.
Sitting here with coach Dixon of Pittsburgh for my first in home visit
— BeeJay Anya (@BAnya_Allday) September 9, 2012
Per Anya's Twitter. The Maryland center continues to be Pitt's top target and would be fantastic insurance in the event Steven Adams is a one-and-done type player. Even if Adams comes back, Anya will replace Dante Taylor and likely become the first big man off the bench. Anya will be taking an official visit to Pitt next weekend. h/t Ray Fittipaldo
Did you know the Bearcats' mascot was arrested (in full regalia) in 2010 for throwing snowballs? Now you do.
Looking for more Pitt-Cincinnati coverage? I threw some brief thoughts together for the SB Nation Pittsburgh game preview this week.
Just another day in the "pillow fight" as USA Today aptly called it. ESPN's Mark Schlabach called it what it is: a shot at Pitt. That led to a laughable denial from Carparelli and SI's Andy Staples jumping in on the action with a San Diego State jab. Glad we're all grown ups here.
I put together a brief preview for Pitt's game against Youngstown State on SB Nation's regional Pittsburgh site. You can check it out here.
In light of recent events, Paul Alexander will not be serving as sideline reporter for #Pitt this season.
— Chris Peak (@PantherLair) August 29, 2012
Per a statement from Pitt, Paul Alexander will not be Pitt's sideline reporter this season in light of his arrest for suspicion of DUI and accident yesterday. Jeff Hathorn will cover the Youngstown State game, but there is no plan in place after that. We all know who's available...
After I talked to Corey Clement a few days ago, I guessed 70/30 he'd leave #Pitt. I think it might even be higher now. #Huskers #Badgers
— Jared Shanker (@JShankerESPN) August 28, 2012
Pretty surprising tweet from ESPN.com recruiting analyst Jared Shanker that Pitt RB Corey Clement will likely decommit from Pitt. That would surprise me, as Clement was a fairly early commitment from the Panthers and already had a very solid offer sheet at the time. On the plus side, Shanker is optimistic about Pitt's chances to land two out of three of Dorian Johnson, Robert Foster and Tyler Boyd. Not too shabby.
