After a big recruiting weekend, that netted Pitt several prospects, Todd Graham's 2011 class now stands at a total of 16 commits. With the landing of some three-star recruits that were coveted by some pretty big programs, just how far has Pitt moved up in the overall college football recruiting rankings?
Well, the answer (right now, anyway) is that Pitt hasn't moved up all that far just yet.
Pitt still isn't in Rivals' Top 50 list (from what I can find, they only rank the top 50) and the site has the Panthers ranked seventh out of the eight Big East teams, even after the weekend.
Scout also has Pitt ranked seventh, but the team did jump about ten spots after the weekend commits and now sits at 64th overall.
At this stage, what's important is filling the class, not the overall rankings. Based on that, Graham has done a good job of bringing in recruits. The team is still also in the mix for some pretty talented players so we'll see how the next few days shape up.
