Despite winning games this past week against VMI and Oklahoma State, Pitt couldn't move up in either poll when the new ones were released today.
The Panthers remained at No. 14 in the ESPN/USA Today poll and No 15 in the AP. Still, the Big East is getting plenty of respect.
Full rankings after the jump.
Undefeated Syracuse is the new No. 1 and unbeaten Louisville is close behind at No. 4. The conference also has five teams in the top 15 - in addition to the Orange and Cardinals, UConn, Marquette, and Pitt are right there.Mildly annoying is the fact that two-loss North Carolina is at No. 6 with several unbeatens and one-loss teams behind them. Pitt is also sitting behind two-loss Kansas, Florida, and Wisconsin teams in the AP poll.
Hardly anything to complain about this early in the season, though. If Pitt gets to Big East play with only one loss and beats some good teams along the way, they'll move up. And with only a game at South Carolina State on Saturday this week (the team is off due to finals), Pitt could be moving up next week.
