Pitt Basketball: Could Dante Taylor Miss West Virginia Game With Injury?

Pitt is gearing up for a big game against West Virginia, but they could again be without one of the bench players - Dante Taylor.

Taylor is injured and according to Jamie Dixon, his status is unknown for Thursday's game against the Mountaineers:

Pitt sophomore center Dante Taylor sat out practice Tuesday to give his ailing knees a rest. Taylor has been bothered by tendinitis in both knees and a bruised left knee bone after colliding with a teammate in early February. The nagging injuries have affected his production; Taylor is averaging 2.8 points and 2.8 rebounds in his past six games. "He has obviously been in some pain for a while," coach Jamie Dixon said. "He didn't feel good the last game, and it has hampered him." Dixon said Taylor's progress will be monitored today to determine his status against West Virginia on Thursday.

Taylor, if you'll remember, injured his knee a few weeks ago. As a result, he missed Pitt's home game against Cincinnati.

Dante's realy turned into a pretty good bench player for Pitt, but as the article notes, he's been struggling lately. Sounds like there's a good reason for it.

If he's unable to go, Talib Zanna and/or J.J. Richardson +should see more playing time.
