As I mentioned a while back, Delvon Simmons was given his release from North Carolina. Prior to signing with the Tarheels, Pitt had shown some interest.

Rivals currently lists him as having no interest in Pitt, but that may not be true.

I'm not big into recruiting on this site, but the Delvon Simmons saga is pretty interesting. I meant to get to this earlier, but buried at the bottom of a recent Pittsburgh Trib-Review article was the fact that Simmons is apparently considering Pitt:

McKeesport coach Jim Ward said senior defensive lineman Delvon Simmons received the release of his letter of intent from North Carolina and is free to sign with any school. Texas Tech and USC remain atop Simmons' list, but Pitt has emerged as a contender. Ward said Graham called Simmons the day he was hired in January, even though Simmons was not considering Pitt at the time. Simmons may not make a decision until next month.

Simmons originally picking UNC was a pretty big surprise since he never even made an official visit to the school.
Pitt is probably still a longshot, but the fact that they're even being mentioned now is promising. If that article is true, Pitt's chances just got much better because Oregon, believed to be a finalist for Simmons' services before Signing Day, is apparently out of the running.
