The end to a down season is finally upon us. It feels a little strange heading into the Big East Tournament knowing that the Panthers are a long shot to even get into the NCAA tournament. But before any of that happens, there's a game against UConn.
As the Post-Gazette just mentioned this week, this is the first time these two teams have met as unranked squads in 15 years. Tells you a little about how good they've been. Both programs are suffering a bit this season, but it will still be a competitive game.
I think Pitt will have their hands full in this one, but a win wouldn't surprise me. They'll be playing with their backs against the wall, which is what they do best. Though, at 17-12, the Huskies are playing for their tournament lives as well. At the very least, it should be a competitive game.
