Chalk up another award for Pitt's Aaron Donald - this time, the defensive tackle won the Rotary Club's prestigious Lombardi Award, given to the nation's top linebacker or lineman. The only other Pitt player to win the award was the iconic Hugh Green back in 1980.
Two major award nominations, two wins. With the Bronko Nagurski Award under his belt to go along with the Lombardi, Donald's trophy case is about to get a bit more full.
Donald is also up a few more major awards, including the Outland Trophy and Bednarik Award, which will be given out on Thursday. Winning one or even both would hardly be a surprise for the player who was quite possibly the most dominant defensive player in all of college football.
Goes without saying, but more congratulations are in order for Donald after his incredible season. We've said it over and over, but Donald has put together one of the most dominant years on offense or defense in Pitt history.
