At 28 days until Pitt officially joins the ACC, today we take a look at Georgia Tech baseball. The program has been around since 1900.
The Yellow Jackets' program had 28 NCAA Tournament appearances heading into this season (they just had their 29th this year). Other ACC programs have perhaps gotten a little more respect nationally, but Georgia Tech has had a ton of success. They've won eight conference championships and have made it to the College World Series three time - last in 2006.
That included a 2nd place finish in 1994 - head coach Danny Hall's first season. Hall has been at the helm of the school ever since. He has nearly 800 wins at the school and is the winningest coach in any sport at Georgia Tech.
But in addition to all of the success in college, the program has also churned out a ton of quality major leaguers including Kevin Brown, Nomar Garciaparra, Jay Payton, Mark Teixeira, Matt Wieters, and Jason Varitek.
