The ACC released the conference's All ACC Preseason Football Team on Wednesday. You can bet there were more than a few surprised people when Pitt's Aaron Donald was left off of the team.
Donald has garnered numerous preseason nods this year and was even named to one of Phil Steele's All-America teams. Another guy that got potentially snubbed? Devin Street. Street had maybe the best statistical season of all returning wide receivers in the ACC ... yet didn't even place in the top four in the voting.
Part of the problem was that the league has only one preseason team, so if you don't crack that, you're out. Still, you can make a pretty good argument for both being on the team.
I'll have more on Donald and Street tomorrow, but it's worth giving Hendricks his share of the spotlight here. Hendricks had a great season last year with six interceptions and 90 tackles - both of which led all Pitt players. If anyone else was deserving of making the team, it was probably him. So it's good to see Pitt wasn't shut out entirely.
