Pitt basketball recruiting: 2014 SG Wade Baldwin keeps Pitt but changes top five

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

A target for Pitt basketball for the Class of 2014, shooting guard Wade Baldwin recently named his top five and included the Panthers. However, having recently picked up a new offer, that list has changed.

According to ZagsBlog, Baldwin is keeping a top five, but after a Florida State offer, has ditched Rutgers. Baldwin's revised top five is now Pitt, Florida State, Minnesota, Virginia Tech, and Vanderbilt.

The funny thing was that Rutgers was considered by some as a favorite, but as I mentioned in our initial article, Baldwin made it pretty clear that playing there didn't matter to him since his parents were moving away from the area.

Unlike some of the top guards that might shy away from Pitt because of a potential lack in immediate playing time, Baldwin could be a fit. As a three-star recruit, a redshirt might be something he'd consider if he wants to go to a big time program.

Interestingly, according to that ZagsBlog link, Baldwin has set official dates for visits to every one of his five schools except Pitt. The visits will take up his month of September, so hopefully Pitt can get him in October.
