Todd Thomas back at #Pitt practice this morning
— Jerry DiPaola (@JDiPaola_Trib) August 14, 2013
There it is. Todd Thomas is back at football practice this morning. Will it be as simple as he is just back on the team with no repercussions? Maybe. Although, I suspect there are some stipulations for his return. It was a wild ride the past week for the junior linebacker, leaving his return very much in doubt. Here is the timeline.
Thomas was "demoted" on the opening day of camp, many believed as a motivational tactic.
Thomas was even quoted in saying, “The motivation worked, definitely,”.
Less than 24 hours later, Thomas left the football team.
Both of Thomas' high school coaches from Beaver Falls gave their opinions.
Coach Chryst remained silent on the topic, even with rumors of IUP going after Thomas.
It all brings us to today, as Todd Thomas was back at Pitt football practice, 19 days until the opener.
Obviously, Thomas made a rash decision in the heat of the moment, and immediately regretted it. It is probably in the best interest of the program (talent wise) to not lose their top returning linebacker over a silly motivational tactic on the first day of camp. I would assume Thomas has to make some things up to the coaches and his teammates, but his biggest worry should be Mike Caprara or Bam Bradley winning the outside linebacker job.
