Weekly ACC Roundup 8/2: Coaches Poll Edition

USA TODAY Sports

Football season is getting closer. Camps are about to open. It's (almost) the most wonderful time of the year. Here are some links to hold you over.

Boston College: BC Interruption pokes fun at the fact the Eagles start the season unranked. We hear you, guys.

Clemson: The Tigers, on the other hand, start the season ranked 8th in the coaches poll. They were also voted most likely to finish the season unranked. Ruh-roh.

Duke: A look at Anthony Boone, Duke's most important player.

Florida State: The Noles are ranked 12th in the coaches poll. Enjoy for week one, guys! (Shots fired)

Georgia Tech: Jacket bloggers have the best take on coaches polls.

Louisville Maryland: Yeah, like Maryland is ranked. Get real.

Miami: The Canes are not ranked to start the season. They're just on the outside looking in. I like the Canes this year. In our Cardiac Hill media day I voted Duke Johnson as the Offensive POY and Al Golden as COY.

NC State: Rafael Palmeiro's son committed to play baseball for the Pack. Does he have a Twitter account?

North Carolina: Insert PJ Hairston story here.

Syracuse: Syracuse is rearranging the Carrier Dome for Duke's arrival (in basketball, folks).

Virginia: The Hoos odds to win the ACC title are the same as Pitt's (33/1). So you're saying there's a chance?

Virginia Tech: The Hokies are unranked in the coaches poll for the first time since 2004.

Wake Forest: Blogger So Dear and BC Interruption are teaming up for a good cause. Good job to all.

This week Rolling Stone released their 50 Best Live Acts right now. Bruce Springsteen is ranked #1 and the only younger act in the top five is Arcade Fire. I've read the whole list and I think there is one omission. The best band I've seen live is the Avett Brothers, hands down. Here they are playing "Laundry Room" live.
