Pitt vs. Wake Forest: Open Gamethread

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Pitt takes on Wake Forest today at noon as they go for a third straight ACC win to start to the conference season. Wake comes in a bit up and down to say the least. They knocked off North Carolina earlier this week ... then promptly lost to Virginia.

I'm a little concerned about Wake but at home, I think the Panthers win this game. That said, Wake shouldn't be taken lightly. Eight of their 11 wins have come by double figures, including a 14-point win against USC on a neutral court. They were beaten soundly by Xavier, Tennessee, and Virginia, but kept things fairly close with a nine-point loss to Kansas. I'm just not buying that they're a terrible team.

If you're into the rankings, this is a big one for Pitt. They've not gotten much respect in the polls so far, but a win against the Demon Deacons today should get the Panthers into the Top 25 for at least the coaches poll.

Game on WTAE if you're local ... if not, you'll need to settle for WatchESPN/ESPN3. Join us at noon to comment live during the game and in the meantime, leave your pre-game comments below.
