NCAA Tournament Projections: Pitt a #7 according to Joe Lunardi's ESPN bracket

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sport

ESPN seems to be picking up their NCAA tournament projections a bit more and doing them on a weekly basis with the new year now upon us.

ESPN's Joe Lunardi last released a bracket on January 2nd and slotted the Panthers as a No. 7 seed. His latest update on January 9th says, well, the same thing. Pitt is still a 7-seed in that bracket and right now, Lunardi has them in the East.

The Panthers have actually been a No. 7 seed since his previous projection as well, back in the middle of December.

Predicting regions at this point means even less than the seed projections, so it's always hard to take that part of it too seriously. But based on the Panther's current standing in the polls, that seeding would be accurate.

Also, keep in mind that the seed was given before Pitt's game against Wake Forest. Got to think that after that win, the Panthers move up.
