ESPN Bracketology: Pitt moving up in Joe Lunardi's ESPN Bracket

Maddie Meyer

Pitt had been on a bit of a roll, starting off 4-0 in the ACC before their close loss to Syracuse on Saturday. As such, ESPN college basketball guru Joe Lunardi moved the Panthers up in his latest bracket a few days ago.

Lunardi called Pitt a rising No. 5 seed prior to the loss against the Orange. That's the first movement for the Panthers, who had been a pretty consistent No. 7 seed according to Lunardi.

That seeding would be mostly in line, obviously with Pitt's ranking in the polls last week. It will be interesting to see how Lunardi slots Pitt with the defeat to Syracuse over the weekend. The Panthers will play again with the game against Clemson on Tuesday before Lunardi likely releases another projection, so that game should account into it as well. A win against the Tigers should probably, at the worst, keep Pitt as a No. 5 seed.
