I really hate doing things like these, so I offer it with the following precursor: Things are bound to have been left off this list. Some intentionally because there simply wasn't enough room and maybe a few unintentionally that I simply forgot about.
Also, some of these are games and not necessarily individual 'moments'. That's just the way it is, though, boys and girls.
Irregardless of all of that, over the next ten days, I'll be bringing you the top ten football moments of 2013 as I see them.
No. 1 - Aaron Donald
Yeah, I get it - Aaron Donald's not a moment, he's a person. But you tell me how we can possibly fit Aaron Donald's achievements into a list of ten with so many deserving ones.
There's the monster game against Georgia Tech. The blocked extra point against Syracuse to get Pitt to bowl eligibility. The Lombardi, Bednarik, Outland, and Nagurski awards. The Heisman consideration, small as it may have been. Really, Donald could have his own top ten list.
For the sake of fitting this in, though, we're lumping everything together. All of the awards, the tackles for losses, the four forced fumbles - everything Donald did really made this year special if you're a Pitt fan. And for that, the collection of everything he did, everything he achieved, is our top 'moment.'
