Been a while since we checked in on the latest ESPN bracket predictions for college basketball's NCAA Tournament, but Joe Lunardi has some new projections out there. In it, he still has Pitt in the big dance. The Panthers checked in as a No. 7 seed - right where they were when we checked in on them before. For now, he has them in the East region.
The last ranking was before the Cincinnati loss - otherwise, Pitt would likely be slotted higher. Keep in mind that these latest rankings came out before the North Carolina State game, so the Panthers might be ranked a bit higher as well. It's telling that the horrid showing against the Bearcats didn't hurt Pitt at all according to Lunardi.
Obviously too early to start worrying about these things too much. But I do like to check in to see what others are saying about Pitt's tourney chances. As of right now, I think the seeding is probably about right. With home games this week against Maryland and Wake Forest, Pitt has a chance to get on the national radar a bit more with a pair of wins.
