Jordan Whitehead to Pitt is a good thing - at least if you're a Panthers' fan. While we're dealing with 18-year old kids here and a fanbase largely consisting of adults, you'd think that the adults would be the bigger people when it comes to recruiting.
Yeah, not so much.
I've never been the type to fret over recruiting the way that many do. While I realize its importance, to me, it's almost like, you try to get the best players and win with the ones you have. No program is going to get every top player, but judging by reactions of some, you might think that's the expectation. As is the case when fans' favorite schools don't land a player they were targeting, there's a wide variety of emotions - mostly bad.
While Pitt Twitter was obviously excited, some fans of Penn State, West Virginia, and Ohio State weren't so much. It should be noted that many reasonable fans weren't nearly as hostile. But like Dean Ambrose, the lunatic fringe exists. With that, I give you some of the best (and by best, I mean worst) reactions from the Twittersphere following Whitehead's decision.
@SC_Bucks It was nice hearing from you Jordan Whitehead....you'll never be heard from again.Enjoy your football career in obscurity #ublewit
