Malik Henderson is a member of the 9-1 Hallandale High School football team competing for the Florida 6A Championship. Florida high school football is big time, and Henderson is a key player on a very strong championship-contending football team.

After watching him on film, he is trusted with playing a lot of one on one coverage. He handles himself very well on an island, has good size at 6'0", and has good closing speed to make up plays quickly.

As we mentioned yesterday, corner is not a strong position in this program right now. With Henderson enrolling early, he may put himself into position to earn immediate playing time. Pitt has returning starter Lafyette Pitts, Titus Howard coming off a suspension, and prized-recruit Jordan Whitehead all in the mix next year.  Beyond those three, nobody stands out, and that could be an opportunity for Malik Henderson.

Despite not being a highly rated recruit, he comes from a talent-rich area and has a lot of upside. He could be on his way to a redshirt, but being able to participate in Spring football will give him a leg up on avoiding that.
