Having won only one of their past six games, Pitt being favored to knock off North Carolina this weekend really wouldn't make much sense. Vegas agrees and the Panthers are currently scheduled to enter the game as the underdog.
Pitt opened up as 1 1/2-point underdogs to the Tar Heels earlier this week and as of Thursday, the line had grown just a bit to two points in North Carolina's favor.
The Tar Heels get the game at home and have a potent offense. Pitt, on the other hand, will be on the road and have been plagued by some defensive issues. Add it all up and the Panthers are justifiably the underdog in this one.
Everything, however, points to it being a close game. And if Pitt can get any kind of defensive play, they'll have a chance to win since the Tar Heels defense is even more porous than the that of the Panthers.
