HighlightsThe Last Go

Tre Tipton finished out a strong high school career by leading his high school team to a 10-2 record and a berth in the playoffs. Tipton was one of the most versatile football players in all of the WPIAL. He played some quarterback for Apollo Ridge, but he also ran the ball, played receiver, played some defense, and was the team's top return man. He was a busy guy on Friday nights, and the Pitt staff is hoping his speed and athleticism will help this program.

Tre Tipton did a lot for his high school team, but he will come to Pitt as a true receiver. He is 6'1" and is a very quick and speedy player. Tipton  will be the kind of guy the coaching staff will look for ways to get the ball in his hands. Although he does not have the lengthy offer list, he is listed as a three star by three of the major services. ESPN goes as far as saying he is the 21st best prospect in all of Pennsylvania.

I know Pitt fans love to look at offer lists and stars, and they are probably nervous about Tipton with numerous offers from MAC schools, well until they see that Michigan State offer.  If the defending Rose Bowl champions are interested in this kid, that should ease all concerns. Tipton is a great athlete with loads of potential. Pitt has a lot of receivers heading into next year, and Tipton will have the chance to ease into the program and learn from guys like Boyd and Jennings while redshirting.
