Pitt vs. Syracuse: Open Gamethread

Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Pitt takes on Syracuse today to keep their bowl hopes alive. While the chances are good that they come out with a win, I think most of us said the same thing against a team like Akron. Fact is, anything can happen. And while the Orange are 3-7 on the year, that's only one game behind Pitt and they've faced a significantly more difficult schedule.

The season has been disappointing but this is still an important game for the Panthers. Any hopes of playing in a big time bowl are out the window, but making any postseason game would be valuable experience for a young team. Pitt will have their hands full next weekend against Miami, but first, they'll need to get past a Syracuse team that's hoping for a win.

And, oh yeah - it's Senior Day at Heinz Field as those guys will play their last home game.
