When Darrin Hall committed back in August, not many people were expecting it. There was not a lot of buzz about the Panthers being involved with the consensus four-star back, but on the eve of his commitment, rumors were flying that Hall loved Pitt. Those rumors proved to be true as he committed to coach Paul Chryst. Pitt already had one running back for this class at the time of Hall's commitment in Sekai Lindsay, so it made it that much more surprising.

Obviously Hall was a player Pitt found room for in this class, as running back appears to be well equipped for the foreseeable future, but he was one they were willing to add no matter what. Hall had offers from Nebraska, Michigan State, Arkansas, Northwestern, and Vanderbilt among others.  He is rated as a four-star by all four major recruiting services, and ranks among the top players in the talent-rich state of Ohio.

Pitt is set up nicely for running back next season and beyond. Hall had some lingering knee issues this season that even limited him in a few games. With Pitt's depth, it does not look like he will be asked to come in and play right away. Obviously James Conner is the main man next year, but Rachid Ibrahim and Chris James should see plenty of touches as well. Hall is clearly a talented player, and will be in the mix for playing time sooner rather than later.
